Don Rogers, Inc.

Don Rogers, Sr., and his wife, Betty, started their company in 1953 with a Ford farm tractor and a Model A dump truck. During his first year in business, Don sold dirt, plowed gardens, graded yards, planted lawns, and graded and paved driveways. As the housing boom began, he would clear and strip the lot, dig the basement, backfill the cellar, grade the yard, and pave the driveway. These services soon developed to be a complete package for the homebuilder. The next step was to build the roads for the new housing developments. As the company grew, commercial site work contracts became the predominant activity. Our list of completed contracts includes construction of tennis courts, running tracks, and all types of athletic fields. Sales of soil materials and grading for agricultural businesses and installing soil conservation measures round out our list of activities.

In 1968, the office and shop were built on Reeves Road in Fairfield Township. The company was incorporated in 1978 with Don Sr. as president, Don Jr. as vice president, and Betty Rogers as secretary and treasurer. Since the passing of Don Sr. in 1989, Don Jr. has continued to serve as president and director of operations. The firm currently has approximately 25 employees, some of whom have been with the company more than 30 years.
